New equipment accepted for TGC-1's Avtovskaya CHPP

In Yekaterinburg, the Ural Turbine Works has accepted the first batch of new equipment for TGC-1's Avtovskaya CHPP renovation. 

New high-pressure shell, rotors, condensers and line heaters have been successfully tested for compliance with specifications and will be used for the upgrade of turbine unit No. 7. 

Manufacture and final assembly of all the turbin unit's elements are scheduled for completion in June 2020.

The project of TGC-1's Avtovskaya CHPP renovation started in 2017 and is planned to be completed in 2024.  It includes two phases. The first phase provides for the upgrade of T-100 and T-97 turbine units of stage 2 with increase of their electric capacity, renovation of 35 kV and 110 kV outdoor switchgear, and construction of a recycling process water supply system. The second phase includes the renovation of general systems.

TGC-1's Avtovskaya CHPP was put into operation on 26 December 1956. The CHPP provides electricity and heat to industrial enterprises, residential and public facilities of Admiralteisky, Moskovsky, Kirovsky and Krasnoselsky Districts of St. Petersburg. About one million citizens live in the CHPP's heat supply zone. Electricity generated is supplied to the Unified Energy System of Russia. Installed electric capacity amounts to 321 MW, installed heat capacity — to 1,849 Gcal/h.
