Electricity Sales

TGC-1 is a participant of the wholesale electricity (capacity) market, and conducts purchase and sale of electricity and capacity both under regulated contracts and on the competitive markets:

·         Long-term regulated contract market — electricity (capacity) trade at regulated prices (tariffs) under regulated contracts of electricity (capacity) sale and purchase;

·         Day-ahead market — electricity trade at free (unregulated) prices determined by competitive selection of bids from buyers and suppliers, which is carried out a day before the commencement of delivery;

·         Balancing market — electricity trade at free (unregulated) prices determined by competitive selection of bids from suppliers and participants with regulated consumption, which is carried out at least one hour before the electricity delivery in order to create a balanced mode of electricity production and consumption.

Terms and conditions of regulated contracts are specified by Russia's Federal Tariff Service, and the contractors’ scheme and delivery schedules under regulated contracts are determined by JSC System Operator of the United Power System, so that the total cost of basic volumes of electricity and capacity under regulated contracts does not exceed the delivery cost of basic volumes in terms of consumers’ indicative prices (tariffs).
