A new hydraulic unit on Lesogorskaya HPP is set in operation

September 14, 2012 a new hydroelectric generator with capacity of 29.5 MW commissioned at Lesogorskaya HPP in Leningrad region. After set in operation the total capacity of the plant has increased to 112 MW.

General Director of JSC TGC-1 Andrey Filippov and Governor of Leningrad region Alexander Drozdenko took part in the festive event, as well as executives and contractors from energy companies of the region. The next element of the monument Group of Vuoksa HPPs cascade units opened in July 2010 was also set.

"It was a very important event for the region. Would like in the future to see all energy companies in Leningrad region investing profits back into the reorganization of production, - said Alexander Drozdenko. – Today we saw a perfect example, when the capacity of the plant increased without expanding its area."

"It is a great success and victory for us, - said Andrei Filippov. - With the commissioning of the third of four units on Lesogorskaya HPP we enter the final stage of the reconstruction of Vuoksa HPPs cascade."

Hydro unit № 3 of Lesogorskaya HPP is the sixth of eight commissioned on Vuoksa HPPs cascade from the start of a complete renovation. The replacement of all  generators is planned by 2014.

Unparalleled technical solutions were used during the design and installation of the hydraulic unit . The station is equipped with automated systems that control the process. The new turbine - one of the most environmentally friendly in its class. Its design allows to prevent technical oil getting in the turbine setting.

The switchgear 110 kV and mechanical equipment waters are also replaced on Lesogorskaya HPP. This is done to increase the capacity and efficiency of the generating equipment, its functioning with minimal loss of electricity. Full update of switchgear will be completed when the fourth generator starts.
