Public Council approved the project of construction of the transit pipeline in Petrozavodsk

On July 15, 2014 the Public Environmental Council meeting was held in Petrozavodsk with the participation of public environmental organizations and local residents. By majority vote the Council members recommend JSC TGC-1 to continue the work on modernization of heating grids in the center of Petrozavodsk along the Anokhina Street, in accordance with the design documentation.

Galina Shirshina, the Mayor of Petrozavodsk, spoke in favor of the project, highlighting that the transit pipeline is in need of modernization.

"The project will be implemented. All work on the modernization of the transit pipeline along the Anokhina Street is financed from the funds of JSC TGC-1 as part of the Investment Programme," said Galina Shirshina, "TGC-1 is a socially responsible partner, who instead of "patching up", suggested a complete modernization of the most problematic section of the heating grid in the city. It is important and necessary."

Galina Shirshina approved the proposal of the power engineers to create a Public Council, which will control the amount of pulled down trees, general improvement and landscaping of Anokhina Street. The composition of the Council will include the residents of Petrozavodsk, environmentalists and power engineers. The Mayor also supported the initiative of the Company to carry out landscaping in the floodplain of the river Neglinka and plant a few dozen trees.

For the purposes of general improvement and landscaping JSC TGC-1 is allocating over 5 million rubles.
