Энергетики ОАО «ТГК-1» и активисты общественной организации «Чистый Петрозаводск» провели экологический субботник
On the 30th of August 2014, on the Al—Russia Ecological Cleanup Day JSC TGC-1 employees and social workers from Clean Petrozavodsk organization joined to participate in cleanup on the flood plain of Neglinka river near Oktyabrsky prospect. Similar cleanups were organized that day by the environmental activists at Drevlyanka and Golikovka.
“Clean Petrozavodsk organization’s input in the city environment is hard to overestimate; they are true enthusiasts of their activity! This Saturday was truly environmentally safe thanks to emphatic people who joined the cleanup. Our employees participated in the cleanup by whole families, together with kids and relatives. This event became a family day, – says Maxim Krikunov, employee of the Petrozavodskaya HPP of JSC TGC-1 and a chairman of the Active Youth Council. — We managed to clean up a vast territory. But the most important thing is that we didn’t just pick up the garbage, but also sorted it. We gathered plastic and glass into separate containers to send it to recycling works. Separate garbage pick-up culture is a very important part of environmental philosophy!”
Roman Kapitan (Clean Petrozavodsk), the organizer of cleanup days in the Oktyabrsky prospect area, told us about garbage sorting and recycling process in the city, about waste paper and plastic pick-up process and about types of waste paper and plastic used for reprocessing. He also invited Petrozavodsk citizens to join the organization: “We are currently seeking for coordinators of cleanup days in different districts of the city, we also do some environmental education. Every last one of us is able to make the city cleaner, to meet new people and enjoy the useful activity.”
