The Team of the Suna HPPs Cascade won the competition of operational staff of hydroelectric stations of JSC TGC-1

In St. Petersburg summed up the competitions of operational staff of hydroelectric stations which were held in the TGC-1’s Training Center.

Ten teams from the HPPs located in the Leningrad Oblast, Murmansk Oblast, and the Republic of Karelia took part in competition. The team of the Suna HPPs Cascade was the best, the Serebryanskiye HPPs Cascade took the second place, and the Tuloma HPPs Cascade was the third.

The winners were selected based on total score of six steps: skills in fire extinguishing and emergency situations, verification of knowledge of regulations and safety rules, first aid, and the ability to make switching.

The team of the Kem HPPs Cascade was the best in fire extinguishing skills. The teams of the Kem, Suna and Serebryanskiye HPPs Cascades got the highest scores in their ability to make switching. The team from the Serebryanskiye HPPs Cascade was the best in emergency skills and the ability to find safety errors. The Tuloma HPPs Cascade was the best in first aid during production process. The Suna HPPs Cascade has shown the best knowledge of regulations.

Alexey Vorobyev, the Chairman of the judicial commission, Deputy Chief Engineer of TGC-1, highly appreciated the skills of operational staff of hydroelectric stations. He said that the regular practical and theoretical exercises of the staff are of key importance for the personal safety and operational stability of the company’s power plants.

“Major objectives of competitions were achieved: we confirmed that the teams worked all together in difficult and ambiguous situations, showed good knowledge of regulations, solved the tasks professionally and proved their high professional level”, said Alexey Vorobyev. Summing up the competitions he added that these competitions were very hot, since the gap between the first and the second places was only 13 scores. The high professional level helped the teams to pass all steps in a perfect manner, and to take medal places in competition of operational staff of hydroelectric stations.

The judges also nominated the power engineers which received the awards as “best in their profession”. Dmitry Menshikov, engineer of the electrical shop of the Serebryanskiye HPPs Cascade was called the best head of shit. Ilya Larkin, on-duty engineer of the Kondopoga HPP of the Suna HPPs Cascade was nominated the best on-duty electrical engineer.
