TGC-1’s Power Engineers Held a Master Class Within the Living Energy Event

18 September 2014

On 17th September 2014, TGC-1’s power engineers and Elena Chekmasova, Landscape Designer, held Plant Your Tree master class for volunteers and activists of the Karelian volunteer center at Kim Andreev’s Republic Children Environmental and Biological Center.

This event was devoted to the power engineer’s campaign for simultaneous planting of 50 noble and ornamental trees in the center of Petrozavodsk – from the crossover of the Antikaynen Street with the Gorkogo Street to the crossover of the Antikaynen Street with the Gogolya Street. On 26th September 2014, various species of trees will be planted on the even side of the street (thuja Brabant, Norway maple, Manchurian walnut, red birch, weeping birch, blue spruce).

“We continue our traditions of tree planting in Petrozavodsk. From the Onega lake embankment where we have planted several dozens of trees and three hundred bushes as a green fence at the Power Engineers Alley, we are moving towards the city center, - said Igor Kartsev, Chief Engineer of the TGC-1’s Karelskiy branch. – We will plant personalized trees here – they will be named after social and environmental enterprises we cooperate with for the city and citizens benefit. Moreover, the personalized trees will get their names after the facilities of the Karelian power system and honored power engineers who devoted their lives to this complex industry. For us it is an opportunity to thank our colleagues for all their work and to refresh in our memory those who were at the origins of the Karelian power industry development”.

Our volunteers and activists of the eco center will help to plant the personalized trees to: the participants of the Karelian Varlamov’s movement; Green Wave environmental movement; Karelian regional social association of parents of disabled children with infantile cerebral paralysis Help Our Children; Residents of Blockaded Leningrad social enterprise in Petrozavodsk; Karelian regional social association Chance for helping homeless animals, etc.

JSC TGC-1 and social activists invite all citizens to participate in planting the trees along the Antikaynen Street on Friday, 26th September 2014 at 2:00 p.m.
