Two months left to take part in the Energy Efficiency and Responsible Energy Consumption Competition

02 October 2014

The competition invites undergraduates studying arts and design and professional designers, experienced artists and beginners alike, to share their “EnergyIdeas”. Not limiting themselves to conventional drawing and painting techniques, contestants readily use latest advances in graphics and animation technology.

“Some works impress you with artistic craftsmanship of the finest quality; other inspire you with breakthrough ideas and deft insights,” said Larisa Semenova, one of the judges, head of the PR Department at TGC-1. “There are works that address some of the most pressing social issues. For example, Energy Saving, an animated film by Ivan Zimin. The artist has found a convincing pictorial language to show how it is important to pay your electricity and heating bills on time. He tells what you should do today to save what you would otherwise waste on utilities tomorrow.”

The internet community shows a genuine interest in the competition, with many users casting their votes in the VKontakte group My Energy at http://vk.com/myenergy.ru. 160 people have given their votes for the work by Milana Mikhailova and Artem Kirshin from Kindergarten 44 of the Kolpinskyi district of St. Petersburg. Through Darkness, an animation by Dariya Konopatova showing the real value of energy in everyone’s life has also received many positive responses. The films by Aleksanda Komarnitskaya and Dinara Nurimova have struck a chord with the audience.
