St. Petersburg’s residents will be charged for heat directly by JSC TGC-1

26 January 2015

Since February 1, 2015, JSC TGC-1 has terminated a contract for heat supply with the Housing and Communal services №2 of Vasileostrovskiy district LCC. In February 2015, the residents will be charged for heat and hot water directly by JSC TGC-1. This system is already used in many Russian regions, including gas and electricity payments. It allows skipping intermediaries during the payment process. From now on, the consumer will be charged for consumed heat directly.

The right to cancel the contract is provided by the current legislation of the Russian Federation and the heat contact: in case if the utility services provider (Housing and Communal services №2  of Vasileostrovskiy district LCC) does not make payment for heat during 3 months of a settlement period, the resource supplying company has a right to unilaterally terminate the contract. On January 1, 2015, the overdue debt of Housing and Communal services №2 of Vasileostrovskiy district LCC amounted to RUB 500.5 million.

“The managing company is entirely responsible for the accumulated debt to JSC TGC-1 and the tenants do not have to pay it,- remarked Sergey Lapin, JSC TGC-1 Director for Sales. Our consumers will be charged for heat directly in order to establish clear relationship.”

The direct payments will not affect the utility services quality for heat and hot water. The Housing and Communal services №2 of Vasileostrovskiy district LCC is obliged to maintain the internal heat supply system and communal units for heat by virtue of the contract on house managing.

The separate household bills for heat and hot water with JSC TGC-1’s payment details will be sent to the consumers (tenants and the owners of non-residential premises) at the working area of Housing and Communal services №2 of Vasileostrovskiy district LCC in February 2015. The payment will be commission-free in any office of JSC Sberbank of Russia, CJSC Petroelectrosbyt, Federal State Unitary Enterprise Russian Post and JSC Openbank.
