TGC-1 starts to bill Petrozavodsk consumers directly

On January 28, 2015, the State Committee of the Republic of Karelia for Prices and Tariffs set tariffs for heat supplied by TGC-1 to consumers in Petrozavodsk as well as in the Pryazhinsky and Prionezhsky municipalities.

Setting the tariffs means that on February 1, 2015 TGC-1 will become the single heat supplier in the Petrozavodsk urban area and will be able to bill all heat consumers, both individuals and businesses. With the new direct payment arrangements in place, it will be easier to maintain utility service providers’ debt at manageable levels, while ensuring maximum transparency, reliability and availability of heat.

Another benefit of this arrangement, in which the heat producer is responsible for collection and gets funds immediately, is that it ensures timely equipment diagnostics, repairs, modernization and refurbishment.
