Kandalaksha hosts the third stage of the ski races as part of the TGC-1 Cross-Country Skiing Cup

On 7 March 2015, Kandalaksha hosted the third stage of the Fifth Youth Ski Races as part of the Cross-Country Skiing Cup of the TGC-1 Kolskiy Branch. 180 skiers from eight cities and towns of Murmansk Oblast contested the victory.

The third stage saw freestyle mass start skiing races. The Kandalaksha team is the first in the overall standing, followed by the team from Apatity. The team from Umba ended third for the first time.

The Cup Final will take place on April 5th in Zelenoborskiy.

“At the final stage, we traditionally hold four-person team relay races. There are no relay races of this type at any other tournament in Murmansk Oblast”, said Igor Ilyin, director of the competition. “Moreover, the guests of honour and the tournament organisers will also go skiing. Guests will see an interesting concert with the creative teams of Murmansk Oblast participating”.
