Large-scale emergency drills were held at the Apatitskaya CHPP of JSC TGC-1

On April 8, 2014 at the Apatitskaya CHPP of JSC TGC-1 were held the comprehensive drills on oil spill response involving managers and specialists of the Company, fire and rescue units of Apatity and specialized rescue squad of SMARP LLC (Monitoring, emergency operations and fire fighting service).

According to the legend of the drill, as a result of destruction of the reservoir on the territory of the fuel oil facility of the boiler shop of the Apatitskaya CHPP fuel oil spillage has occurred. Dispatcher reported the incident to the enterprise management.

Operating personnel had evacuated people from the spillage area, then blocked off the area and disconnect the equipment of the tank. The emergency situation was reported to the emergency services of the city.

In the event of the fuel oil catching fire, the firefighters arrived to the place of emergency. Collection of oil products was conducted by the specialists of the SMARP organization. After the elimination of the causes of the fuel oil spill, work began on the removal of contaminated soil to the landfill for disposal.

The extraordinary situation, which was practiced during the drill, was quickly resolved, -said Alexander Trifonov, the Chief Engineer of the Apatitskaya CHPP of JSC TGC-1. – Our enterprise is a facility of high risk and importance. It requires careful attention to the issue of safety of people and equipment operation. Drills and training of the personnel are held regularly.
