Igor Albin, vice-governor of St. Petersburg, visits the Central CHPP of JSC TGC-1

14 May 2015

On May 14, 2015 within the framework of the weekly visiting facilities of the city's Public Utilities and Fuel and Energy facility Igor Albin, vice-governor, and the leaders of committees supervised by him visited the Central CHPP of JSC TGC-1 which is a key power engineering facilities of St. Petersburg providing the energy supply to the historic centre.

During his visit the vice-governor examined the modern 110/6 kV indoor switchgear (ISG) which was put into operation in June 2014.

— JSC TGC-1 implements the project of updating the Central CHPP aiming at the increasing the reliability of electricity and heat supply of the customers. The first stage was the introduction of the new ISG- remarked Alexey Barvinok, General Director of JSC TGC-1. It meets technical requirements completely and is ready for customers’ connection.

However, the Central District is provided the customers with the electricity supply by the equipment that has been operating for more than half a century. JSC Lenenergo needs to connect the cable lines to the new indoor switchgear for increasing the reliability.

— It is necessary to solve this problem of switching over in this year and before the heating season, - said Igor Albin while examining the outmoded equipment. – It is a safety and reliability of electricity supply of the Central District.

This matter shall be included in the agenda of the next staff meeting on electricity safety of St. Petersburg.
