HPPs JSC TGC-1 Operating Staff Competition Started

August 31, 2015, HPPs JSC TGC-1 operating staff competition started in Murmashi village of Murmansk Oblast.

Nine teams are taking part in the competition. They represent eight HPP cascades of the Leningrad Oblast, Murmansk Oblast, Republic of Karelia, and Narvskaya HPP.  Each team has three members: HPP shift supervisor, electrical lineman on duty, and electrical foreman. 

From August 31 till September 3, the teams will be competing in six events: the knowledge of standard documentation and safety regulations, fire  and emergency drills, first aid, and routine switching. 

Team performance will be assessed by a panel of judges formed by the specialists of JSC TGC-1.

Aleksey Vorobyev, the head of the panel and JSC TGC-1 Deputy Chief Engineer, greeted the team members and judges and expressed his hope that the teams will succeed in showing their knowledge and skills.

HPP workers will demonstrate their professional experience on virtual simulators and will be also using a specially equipped range that maximally emulates real working conditions. 

"This competition helps us assess the level of training of our staff and increase the efficiency of interaction in an emergency.  For the participants, this is a wonderful opportunity for showing their strengths and distinguishing themselves," said Aleksandr Antipov, the Director of Kolskiy JSC TGC-1 branch.
