04 September 2015

On September 4, 2015, under the educational project Energy Hour, children from Beryozka daycare centre No. 7 located in Kirovsk, Leningrad Oblast visited Dubrovskaya CHHP.

They attended an entertaining class on energy and heat efficiency that was taught by a boy named Charge and robot Plug, characters of My Energy game for iPad. Then little visitors learned about responsible use of energy sources by watching a series of cartoons created by participants of cartoon and graphic arts contest Take Charge

CHPP staff told kids about the history of the power plant. With the construction of Dubrovskaya CHHP, Nevdubstroy, a small settlement of energy workers, grew into the modern town of Kirovsk.

At the CHHP tour, children visited the generator room and the control room where they observed the process of heat and energy production.

"Preschoolers are the best audience for such educational tours. They were excited to learn how heat and light are made and how to save energy at home," said Oksana Dik, daycare specialist with Berezka daycare centre No. 7. "Some of them may decide to become energy workers, for a lot of kids' relatives work at Dubrovskaya CHHP."
