Pravoberezhnaya CHPP of JSC TGC-1 celebrates 10th anniversary

20 May 2016

On May 20, 2016 it has been 10 years since the first power generating unit of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP was put into operation.

The construction of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP is one of the priority projects of TGC-1 investment program in St. Petersburg. The new power plant replaced the first project of the GOELRO plan – CHPP Krasniy Oktyabr (Red October). Closure of CHPP Krasniy Oktyabr became the unique experience of decommissioning of the whole power plant and not the separate outmoded units. The steam-power generating unit with the capacity of 180 MW was launched in 2006 in the framework of the Capacity Supply Agreements (CSA), and the second power generating unit on the basis of the steam-gas unit of 450 MW was launched in 2012.

Today, Pravoberezhnaya CHPP is the significant part of the North-Western energy system and the heat supply source for more than 700 thousand residents and enterprises of the Krasnogvardeyskiy and Nevskiy Districts of St. Petersburg.

“The power plant is equipped with the most advanced technologies – the modern ecological solutions securing the cleanliness of the air basin, water conservation and environmental protection have been implemented, remarked Vladimir Yaskevich, the Director of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP. I would like to congratulate the personnel of Pravoberezhnaya CHPP with their first anniversary and thank them for their devotion and personal involvement in their job, for their work and caring attitude to the power plant, and to wish them stability, reliability, development and achievement of new production success.”
