Rayakoski HPP of JSC TGC-1 celebrates the 60th anniversary

25 May 2016

On May 25, 2016 it has been 60 years since Rayakoski HPP of JSC TGC-1 was launched into operation. The hydroelectric power plant located in the settlement with the same name is in the most northern part of the world where the borders of three countries Russia, Finland and Norway, intercross.

Rayakoski HPP was built by the Finnish company Imatran Voyma in 1956. Construction of the hydroelectric power plant became the result of the post-war cooperation period between the Soviet Union, Finland and Norway.

“Rayakoski HPP occupies the central place in the whole Paz HPPs Cascade.  The operation mode of all hydroelectric power plants of the Cascade is managed from the dispatch console located here. The shift supervisor of the power plant regulates the load parameters and the export mode, remarked Nikolay Vorobyev, the Director of the Paz HPPs Cascade of JSC TGC-1. I would like to congratulate the personnel with this memorable date, to thank them for their attention to operation of the equipment, and to wish them accident-free operation and success in execution of their production program.”
