Ветераны предприятий «Газпром энергохолдинга» в Москве приняли участие в торжественных мероприятиях к 70-летию Победы
More than 20 veterans who have worked for energy companies which are now included in the Gazprom Energoholding group took part in the celebrations for energy workers, held in Moscow on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Victory.
In the Museum of the Great Patriotic War, the veterans met with Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of Russia, who thanked them for their personal contribution to the overthrow of the enemy and securing energy resources for the country during the violent years of war and post-war revival. Participants of the meeting shared their frontline stories and asked their questions to the Minister on the current development of the Fuel and Energy Complex.
The Minister stressed that many of the wartime achievements of the Fuel and Energy Complex were made possible through selfless labour of women and children, while men went off to the front to defend the country.
For veterans who came from different parts of Russia, a tour in the Museum of the Great Patriotic War was organised, along with a boat trip on Moskva River with a story about facilities that supplied energy in the capital during and after the war. All the guests were given memorable gifts, anniversary sectoral medals and the book 'Energy of the Great Victory.'
Then the Great Patriotic War veterans together honoured memory of the fallen in the lines and laid flowers to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall.
