Marina Kovtun, Governor of the Murmansk Region Visited Nizhne-Tulomskaya HPP of PJSC TGC-1

On August 04, 2016 Marina Kovtun, governor of the Murmansk Region, inspected the progress of spillway reconstruction at Nizhne-Tulomskaya HPP of PJSC TGC-1 during her working trip to the Kolsky District.

The project started in 2015. The reconstruction involves full upgrade of spillway units, scheduled substitution of hydro-mechanical equipment and substation upgrade. The works shall continue till 2019.

— Large-scale reconstruction is aimed at improving reliability and strength of hydrotechnical facilities, providing safe operation of the dam and meeting modern environmental requirements, – Stanislav Nazarov, Deputy General Director – Director of the Kolskiy Branch of PJSC TGC-1 said.

Ms Kovtun also held a meeting in the administration of the Kolskiy Branch to discuss preparation of power specialists to autumn and winter period. Representatives of Kolenergo (IDGC of the North-West), Kolskoye RDU (SO UES) and the Head of the Kolsky District also took part in the meeting.

— Electric power and heat supply systems of our Zapolyarny District are quite unique and require a specific approach to ensure continuing operation and development. Constant operation of electric power system is a key factor, providing safety and prosperity of the area in autumn and winter period, and we are to do it together, — Marina Kovtun said and added that on a wide-scale basis, safe and qualitative electric power supply, as well as energy infrastructure development in the Murmansk Region, is crucial not only to ensure the decent quality of life of the citizens, but also to achieve social and economic development of the region, Kola support zone and the Russian Arctic as a whole.
