Стартовал турнир по детским лыжным гонкам на Кубок «ТГК-1»
On January 7, 2017 Murmashi village saw opening of the VII Children and Youth Competition for the Cup of Kolskiy Branch of PJSC TGC-1. It will consist of four stages and will be finished in April. Almost 200 skiers from Subarctic settlements took part in the first stage.
“The tournament covers extensive geography and includes four age groups. Moreover, each stage comprises various ski disciplines,” Igor Ilyin, Director of the Competition, stated. “The tournament started in spite of the unfavourable weather conditions! It was the first time Murmashi held our Cup and it resulted in a huge number of participants having come from Murmansk and Severomorsk.
It was skiers from Murmansk who won the overall team event with the Apatity and Severomorsk teams having taken the second and the third places correspondingly. This year TGC-1 introduced a challenge cup for teams from small settlements who are not able to participate in the team events because of not being big enough. Skiers from Murmashi, holder of the competition, won a small cup, while skiers from Revda and Zelenoborsky took the second and the third places correspondingly.”
The next stage will take place in Apatity on February 5.
