XX Ski-Track of Friendship international race for Barents Sea region states took place in Murmansk Region

On March 11, 2017, in Rayakoski settlement, Murmansk Region, mass ski race "Ski-track of Friendship" was held for the countries of Barents region. PJSC TGC-1 was the traditional organiser of this international sporting event.

The unique ski race has been held annually since 1994 on the territory of three neighbouring countries: Russia, Finland, and Norway. The participants need no visas or international passports.

Traditionally, the race starts next to Rayakoski HPP of PJSC TGC-1. Power specialists take part in organising the unique event and preparing the ski track.

– It is over a half-century that we have been cooperating with Norway and Finland in the field of joint water resource usage. This good sporting tradition of ski meeting on the boarder of three countries prove our common interests and mutual understanding. Ski-track of Friendship is a unique event that has become a landmark of the company and the whole region. And we do our best to create a comfortable and festive atmosphere, Stanislav Nazarov, Director of the Kolskiy Branch of PJSC TGC-1, noted.

For one day a small settlement Rayakoski becomes a center of international cooperation and the Subarctic's sporting capital. Over 3,5 thousand people took part in the Ski-track of Friendship. Border guards opened the race, followed by professional athletes and amateur skiers.

The winner among the border guards was Sergey Zotov. His time comprised 27 min.
