TGC-1 has awarded the authors of the best graduation projects
On August 2, 2017, Administration of TGC-1 hosted the annual awards ceremony for the winners in the 14th Graduation Project Contest held among higher educational institutions of the Northwest of Russia. The contest was organised by the Company's Training Centre.
Students and professors were welcomed by Edward Lisitskiy, Chairman of the Expert Panel, Deputy General Director for Development of TGC-1.
"Modern world poses even more challenges for the energy industry than before. Apart from reliability and stability we must pay close attention to economic and environmental characteristics of our facilities. Transition to the use of domestic equipment and systems, as well as adaptation of foreign repair regulations, are relevant more than ever. Consequently, skills of our employees need to be upgraded and university academic programmes need to be adjusted. We are interested in participating in the training of future graduates and in the joint development of graduation and research projects," said Edward Lisitskiy. "TGC-1 is open to students, and the best ones are accepted for our work experience internship to study operation process and prepare research projects. Many winners of previous years have already become a part of TGC-1's team."
Students of the major technical universities of the Northwest take part in the contest. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Higher School of Technology and Energy of Saint-Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design, Saint-Petersburg Mining University, Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics, Petrozavodsk State University, Murmansk Arctic State University and Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime and Inland Shipping.
In 2017, 32 projects recommended by universities were submitted to the professional jury. Every project was revised by several experts from TGC-1. Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University remains the leader in the number of projects sent to the contest.
HR Director of TGC-1 Sergey Varzayev noted that the key goal of the long-term contest is to support talented graduates of energy departments, as well as to discover original scientific and technical ideas for the subsequent implementation into the Company's operations.
At the end of the event, Elena Rusina, Deputy Director for HR and Organisation Development, Head of HR Development Department at Gazprom Energoholding, thanked the organisers of the contest and wished future power specialists the will to win and further success.
