Boiler overhaul completed at Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1

Overhaul of boiler No. 7 with a capacity of 220 tonnes of steam per hour was completed at Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1. A water economiser and heating surfaces were replaced, gas ducts and the pulverised-coal system were upgraded.

"Equipment overhaul will improve the reliability of power supply to consumers," said Aleksandr Sobakin, Director of Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1.

TGC-1's Repair and Maintenance Programme is aimed to provide safe and continuing equipment operation, improve efficient performance of power plants and raise the environmental safety of production.

Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1 is the only heat supply source of the cities of Apatity and Kirovsk of Murmansk Oblast. The plant's installed electric capacity is 266,230 MW, and installed heat capacity is 590,535 Gcal/h. Coal is the main fuel type.

TGC-1 is the leading producer and supplier of electricity and heat in the North-West of Russia. The Company comprises 53 electric power plants within four constituent entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts.
