01 August 2018

Employees of Nizhne-Svirskaya HPP of TGC-1 collected more than 100 kg of rubbish during cleaning days, that took place as part of the All-Russian action Water of Russia. Power engineers cleaned the banks of the Svir River of jars, bottles and packages left by tourists near the hydroelectric power plant.

"With each year, locations near our plants are becoming more popular and visited. Unfortunately, this is the reason for the pollution of banks and reservoirs," said Darya Evtyukhina, Environmental Engineer of the Ladoga HPPs Cascade. "We support initiatives and are happy to participate in environmental actions. Every week, from spring to autumn, we spend two hours cleaning the territories, and once a month we conduct major cleaning of the banks of the Svir and Volkhov rivers."
