Энергетики очищают реку Тулому
As part of the All-Russian action Water of Russia, power engineers of the Tuloma and Serebryanskiye HPPs Cascade of TGC-1 are cleaning up the Tuloma River.
A special holding trap has been installed at Nizhne-Tulomskaya HPP, into which rubbish from the river enters. Throughout the summer, the power engineers of the plant lift all waste onto the surface and take it out for disposal. Diving work is also carried out to lift waste from the water column that accumulates on the hydro power plant's intake screens.
"Six tons of various garbage have been already lifted for this summer. Basically, these were household waste that enter the river from villages, country houses, and garages located along the river. Here one can find everything — from bottles to building elements," noted Alexander Smirnov, Chief Engineer of the Tuloma and Serebryanskiye HPPs Cascade. "We take care of nature and the main resource of hydroelectric power plants — water — and annually take part in various environmental actions. Thanks to the power engineers, Tuloma becomes cleaner."
