An overhaul completed at Suuri Ioki HPP of TGC-1, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary two years later

An overhaul of the hydroelectric generating unit No. 2 at Suuri Ioki HPP located on the Tulemajoki River in the Western part of Karelia was completed on 3 August 2018 as part of implementation of TGC-1's Repair and Maintenance Programme.

- The repair was performed by experts of the Smaller HPPs Group of the Suna HPPs Cascade, as well as by the personnel of the Cascade. Within four months a great work was done for commissioning and regulation of the hydroelectric generating unit's turbine, the most important parts of the hydroelectric generating unit were repaired, and the electrical part of the equipment was adjusted.- The hydroelectric generating unit at Suuri Yoki HPP was successfully put into operation upon completion of complex testing.

Power engineers of the Smaller HPPs Group have repaired the equipment without involvement of any third parties for the second time already: - last year, an overhaul of Pieni Yoki HPP equipment was performed in a similar way. Specialists of the power plants developed own working documentation.
