Power engineers of the Suna HPPs Cascade of TGC-1 improve operational reliability of power equipment

15 August 2018

Power engineers of the Suna HPPs Cascade completed an overhaul of the transformer with the capacity of 31.5 MVA at Kondopozhskaya HPP.

- We have installed breakers with remote drives, SF6 circuit breakers, renovated the relay protection of the transformer, control cables and the bus system - Alexander Sedelnikov, Chief Engineer of the Suna HPPs Cascade noted. - In the course of the repairs high-voltage bushings of 110 kV being the crucial structural elements of the transformer were replaced. The new bushings with RIP insulation have higher thermal and mechanical resistance as compared to their predecessors.

The overhaul was intended to improve the reliability of the main power plant equipment and ensure continuous power supply to the grid connecting Kondopozhskaya HPP with the energy system of the Republic of Karelia.
