An overhaul of the boiler unit completed at Vasileostrovskaya CHPP of TGC-1

Power engineers repaired the superheater of the boiler unit No. 8, the drum with separational arrangements, regenerative-type air heaters and other elements of the equipment.

As a result of works, technical, economic and resource properties of the boiler unit were taken to their standard values.

- An overhaul allowed liquidating the natural wear of components and details - Evgeniy Komashko, Director of TGC-1's Vasileostrovskaya CHPP said. - After that we will start refurbishment of the unit in order to improve its performance properties. The works are aimed at improving the reliability of heat supply to consumers of the Basil Island.

TGC-1's Repair and Maintenance Programme is aimed at providing safe and continuous equipment operation, improving the efficient performance of power plants and raising the environmental safety of production.

Vasileostrovskaya CHPP was commissioned on 1 October 1932. It supplies electricity and heat to industrial, housing and public facilities of the Vasileostrovsky District of St. Petersburg. Its installed electric capacity is 135 MW. Its installed heat capacity is 1,113 Gcal/h.
