TGC-1's project became the winner of the regional stage of the MediaTEK contest

On 12 November 2018, Evgeny Nikora, Deputy Governor of Murmansk Oblast, awarded the winners of the regional stage of the MediaTEK contest.

The joint project of TGC-1 and TB-21 TV company, called Electric Lights of the North, received a certificate of the winner. It included a series of reports on the development of the energy industry of the Arctic region and the impact of the construction of hydropower plants on the development of the entire Murmansk Oblast.

"The company's projects on the historical development of energy industry in the difficult conditions of the northern regions allow not only to attract professionals to the sector, but also to draw the attention of wide audience to the industry. We are glad that the profession of energy worker is becoming more prestigious, and the importance of their work, both in the past and in the present, is brought into focus," said Viktoriya Pavlova, Head of the Public Relations Department of TGC-1.

In 2018, about 400 works from 50 regions of the country were submitted to the all-Russian contest MediaTEK-2018.

TGC-1 is a leading producer and supplier of electricity and heat in the North-West of Russia. The Company comprises the electric power plants within four entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts.

MediaTEK All-Russian contest has been held since 2015. Federal and regional mass media, journalists, public relations departments of fuel and energy companies and regional administrative experts are invited to participate in the competition.

The main purpose of the competition is to stimulate the growth of the professionalism of energy companies in the field of information coverage of their activities, to inform the public about the projects for the development of energy facilities, and to promote the projects related to popularisation of power sector professions and increasing the importance of the role of power engineers, oil workers, gas workers.
