Apatitskaya CHPP switched to winter operating mode

Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1, the only heat supply source of the towns of Apatity and Kirovsk in Murmansk Oblast, switched to the winter operating mode.

"A repair campaign has been carried out in summer, including the current repair of the boiler facility equipment and main heat supply grids. This year, work on anti-corrosion protection of the tank farm and overhaul of the spray cooling pond's section have been performed. A standard fuel reserve has also been created,” noted Aleksandr Sobakin, Director of Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1.

It takes up to 5 days for management companies to connect residential buildings to the heating system and adjust the mode.

Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1 is located in the town of Apatity in Murmansk Oblast. It is the only heat supplier to Apatity and Kirovsk. The installed electric capacity amounts to 230 MW, the installed heat capacity — to 535 Gcal/h. Coal is the main fuel type.
