TGC-1 received the award of MediaTEK-2019 All-Russian Contest

On 3 October 2019, the awarding ceremony of the Fifth MediaTEK-2019 All-Russian Contest was held as part of the business programme of the Russian Energy Week International Forum.

TGC-1 won the Promotion of Professions in Fuel&Energy Complex nomination for the Real Energy Workers are the Best Professionals project. The purpose of the project is to describe how the energy facilities work in the North-West of Russia and to contribute to the formation of the stable positive image of the energy complex specialists.

The project was implemented for July–December 2018 in all regions of TGC-1. More than twenty employees of various qualifications from power plants of St. Petersburg, Karelia, Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts were featured.

         The How Energy Workers Prepare CPP for Winter and HPP Anatomy multimedia texts were prepared to tell about the energy facilities that supply energy to 8 million people. The story consists of quotations of the energy workers about various aspects of their profession, their attitude to work, the team and their duties. It is illustrated by portrait photos and video sketches that immerse the readers into the working climate at the power plant.

For six months, more than 30,000 readers of TGC-1 website and social networks got acquainted with the technical equipment of power plants and large-scale repairs before every heating period.

In total, 443 works from 54 regions of Russia were received at the federal stage of the contest this year.

MediaTEK All-Russian Contest for mass media, fuel and energy complex media relations and regional administrations is held annually and supported by the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation. The finalists of the contest were chosen by the expert board that comprised of heads of the largest federal business media, departments of journalism of Russian universities, officials, and fuel and energy complex experts.

TGC-1 (part of the Gazprom Energoholding Group) is a leading producer and supplier of electricity and heat in the North-West of Russia. TGC-1 comprises 53 power plants within four constituent entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts.
