Governor of Saint Petersburg visited Power plant No. 1 of Centralnaya CHPP of TGC-1

23 October 2019

On 23 October 2019, Aleksandr Beglov visited Power Plant No. 1 of Centralnaya CHPP of TGC-1.

The Governor of Saint Petersburg inspected a new power plant constructed under the programme of the upgrade of capacities in 2016.

Power Plant No. 1 is a modern power-generating facility, and its construction increased the reliability of the power supply for the historical centre of the city, decreased a negative impact on the environment and allowed to decommission outdated generating capacities.

We focused on the careful approach to the unique historical architecture during the implementation of the project. As a result, the new building blends seamlessly into the urban landscape of the centre of Saint Petersburg.

TGC-1 comprises 53 power plants within four constituent entities of the Russian Federation: St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts. TGC-1's installed electric capacity is 6.95 GW, and heat capacity is 13.75 thousand Gcal/h.

In 2012–2016, a construction project of modern gas turbine plant (GTP-CHPP) was implemented at Power Plant No. 1 of TGC-1's Centralnaya CHPP. As a result, a modern power-generating facility was created, which includes two gas turbine plants (based on Siemens equipment), two waste heat boilers and a hot water boiler. Total electric capacity of GTP-CHPP is 100 MW and heat capacity is up to 240 Gcal/h.
