Overhaul of Turbine Unit No. 3 Completed at Apatitskaya CHPP

Overhaul of turbine unit No. 3 with a capacity of 28 MW is now completed at Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1.

— Equipment diagnostics, elimination of defects and replacement of individual components have been performed. The works aimed at improving the reliability and safety of operation of the turbine unit and have been carried out in accordance with the annual repair schedule, said Aleksandr Sobakin, Director of Apatitskaya CHPP.

Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1 is located in the city of Apatity, Murmansk Oblast. It is the only heat supplier to Apatity and Kirovsk. It has an installed electric capacity of 230 MW and an installed heat capacity of 535 Gcal/h. The plant is mainly coal-fired.

TGC-1 is a leading producer and supplier of electricity and heat in the North-West region of Russia. It operates 53 power plants in four constituent entities of Russia: St. Petersburg, the Republic of Karelia, and Leningrad and Murmansk Oblasts.
