19 October 2021

The replacement of five circuit breakers of an outdoor 150 kV switchgear has been completed at the Apatitskaya CHPP of TGC-1 PJSC. Outdated oil circuit breakers were replaced with modern SF6 equipment.

The new circuit breakers are more compact, easier to maintain, have a longer time between overhauls and are fully automated. Their use increases the safety of the thermal power plant operation.

“We will continue the refurbishment of the switchgear equipment to increase the operation reliability and bring the electricity generation and transmission control to modern digital quality,” said Aleksander Trifonov, Director of the Apatitskaya CHPP.

The switchgear of the Apatitskaya CHPP serves to connect the power plant with the power system and participates in the power flow between the northern and southern parts of the Murmansk Oblast.
