TGC-1 in the Republic of Karelia

• Container-type biological treatment station commissioned, and blind septic tank liquidated at Krivoporozhskaya hydro power plant.
• Effluents are now discharged into concrete septic tanks at Vygostrovskaya and Belomorskaya hydro power plants.
• Vagan dam repaired at Suna cascade of hydroelectric stations, trash racks cleaned, renewed notices against water pollution at the region’s hydraulic structures, identified and reinforced peat islands in Girvas water reservoir.
• Reconstructed the headworks of Khyamekoski hydro power plant on the Kiteenjoki River.

TGC-1 in Murmansk Oblast

• Dust extraction plant of boiler 9 overhauled at Apatity cogeneration plant.
• Contract concluded for reconstruction of Niva hydro power plant 1 treatment facilities.

Total investments in environmental protection in 2007 amounted to over 16 mln rubles.

In 2007, atmospheric pollutant emissions decreased by 3.2 % compared 2006, mainly due to a lower share of fuel oil in the fuel balance of cogeneration plants of Leningrad Oblast and St. Petersburg and Petrozavodskaya cogeneration plant.
